Learned Helplessness

Changing beliefs and understanding our patterns of thinking doesn’t change overnight. It takes time to make the necessary changes in our life. Moving from being passive in life to equating hard work on our defects and empowering ourselves to becoming authors of our own life is a process. In the past I have mentioned resistance or barriers to change. Resistance to change can be due to learned helplessness. This can be a coping mechanism which can cause a person to feel completely helpless to change their circumstances in life for the better. The result of learned helplessness is severe depression and extremely low self worth. It is extremely important to get to the root of our problems in order to reach our potential in life.
